Essentials

Every Muslim needs to have an understanding and appreciation of the basics or 'Essentials' of his or her faith. Our year long Essentials course is held every year to equip Muslims with this knowledge in the English language.

Prophetic Sports

Also known as Sunnah Sports and the Sports of Kings, we deliver a range of sports in the local area that are designed to cultivate excellent character. Currently we run weekly sessions in Swimming.

Scouts

We believe healthy, happy children are those who have a deep and profound connection to nature. Our Scouts division meets up on a weekly basis to engage in all things natural. We currently run a beavers and cubs section suitable for ages 6-10.5 and will shortly launch a scouts section.

Latest News

December 2020

We received wonderful support on the foodbank this month from Lomeshaye Junior School. Below is from their website:

Learning Leaves have collaborated with a local charity called Inspiring Grace, who provide lots of support and provide many opportunities to the local community. It all started when Learning Leaves were watching Newsround and we learnt about the work foodbanks do and their importance in some people’s lives. This inspired the children to positive action and we reached out to a local charity called Inspiring Grace, to see what we could do to help. Mr Rashid Hussain kindly responded and we set up a food drive together to collect food items for those in need. With the food drive being such a success, the rest of the school was inspired to help out those in need as well. Well done to Learning Leaves and Lomeshaye Junior School and many thanks to Mr Rashid and Inspiring Grace.

November 2020

The Foodbank has been as busy as ever since the second lockdown. We are delighted to have struck up new relationships with Booths, Barrowford and Lomeshaye Junior School who will be supporting us with food over the next few weeks and months.

This is alongside of course the continued support of organisations such as Daisy Communications (who have delivered over 11,000 pre packed meals since the pandemic began!).

Pictured is University of Manchester Student and Local Volunteer Ismaeel Ali who has been helping with packing and deliveries and recently began a new role to ensure the foodbank is also well topped up! Great Work Ismaeel!

Education Courses - Essentials of Islam 2021

It is coming close to that time of the year again where we launch our annual “Essentials of Islam” Course. The course was setup many years ago to provide Muslims in Pendle with a bite-sized opportunity to learn the absolute essentials of their religion.
Starting with Theology on Tuesday 5th January, there will be weekly sessions on 7pm – 8pm

Location – Hodge House Community Centre, Regent St, Nelson, BB9 8LJ
£50 for the full course
Free for Under 16s.
Email: info@inspiringgrace.co.uk

All participants will be provided with course packs and we encourage young people to attend with the course being FREE for under 16s. The course is typically aimed at Adults, so very young children may struggle, but it can provide a good foundational course for those studying at secondary school level.
